Jacky has worked within education and training since 2004 and although she went down the traditional academic route she always worked part-time while studying. This enabled her to recognise the value of the role of managers and mentors in the workplace in supporting skills development. After graduating, Jacky joined the NHS (continuing her studies with a post-grad diploma in IT) and was offered a role within Vocational Training. She was part of the team awarded the first direct SFA contract (right back in the Train to Gain days!). Jacky then took an opportunity to work within a private training organisation in which she gained experience of private sector delivery and a range of funding contracts. Then there was rove…the perfect opportunity for Jacky to use her experience, to support others with their own development.
What you might not know….
- Jacky loves Northern Soul…and a bit of funk and new Jazz…you might catch her throwing some shapes on a dance floor near you!
- Learning to speak Japanese (more than arigato!) has been on her ‘to do’ list forever
- If she didn’t work in education and training she’d be a…florist, or a carpenter or maybe interior designer.
