I commenced the CQI L5 Quality Management Diploma 2.5 years ago; it seemed a very good idea with a healthy Oil and Gas Industry. Unfortunately owing to the downturn in the price of Oil, with thousands of redundancies in the sector the chances of a 59 year old benefiting from the qualification are now limited. However, I have absolutely no regrets in completing the Diploma, the assignments and examinations make you think again and I would suggest essential for young Quality Professionals who take the subject seriously and looking for a respected qualification.
I would hope that the CQI have the influence with employers to get their qualifications such as the Diploma included in job adverts, courses of this type would then flourish in line with the CSWIP/PCN/ERS courses of the 80’s and 90’s which heralded a whole industry of courses and training worldwide.
The Diploma has more substance than the short one or two week training courses followed by a multi choice examination, it challenges the student to write a sentence and demonstrate the depth of their knowledge.
CQI Level 5 Diploma in Quality Management, Site Quality Lead. Oil and Gas Contractor
I said in the very early stages of my course, you came fully recommended by Suzanne Birtles, a colleague of mine at Windsor House. She was so right, as there is no doubt that your positive supervision and input has boosted my confidence as a student. Taking into account my hand injury, I seem to have completed this course in under six months of actual work, and I would not have achieved such an amazing target without your input. Your response and speed of marking my last few assignments has been remarkable. To now have the gate open into the meadowland of Band 4 at the age of 65 is an amazing achievement, which I will always relish!
Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, Team Secretary at Friarage Hospital Northallerton Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust June 2016
It was a real pleasure working with Neil. Neil took over as my assessor part way through my qualification and he explained everything from grass roots and put a package in place that I could follow step by step. I found iLearner confusing at first but Neil gave me direction to simplify it for my needs and showed me how to understand and get around it.
As I work with intensively with children and my role is of a sensitive nature, Neil used lots of different ways to make sure I was still able to meet the criteria to complete my qualification. We used testimonials, evidence, questions and recorded discussions to show my knowledge.
Two years ago my job changed and this qualification has given me a much better understanding of my new job role, I’m now much more confident at work and it has given me the motivation to follow the Mental Health pathway in the Trust.
